The Public Transit Reporter / Man On The MAX-TriMet Employee Lies | HR 6.8 Policy Violation | #TTC2024
Flashback to 2019 Though it wasn't easy I was doing the best I could to stand my ground in defense of the first amendment not only in the face of TriMet and their Transit Police but I had just won my appeal against the Portland Police Chief and so I was working to establish myself when and wherever I could make the argument, for the people. In the lead up to the 2020 election political unrest in 2019 was gearing up for what was to come a year later. Personally having already been attacked several times for exercising my first amendments by TriMet, Transit Police, Portland Police, the DA's office, and at protests as an independent by both left and right it would be fair to say, yes I had a chip on my shoulder, and according to the experts anyone in my situation would. In fact I've learned a lot since then. Primarily patience, and the art of being observant, and importantly challenging the expectations I had been placing on authority from the very beginning and embracing more of a media role whereas in the beginning I had been responding as the activist who first witnessed Transit Police abusing their authority in 2013. Today, I'm well versed in the TriMet Employee Policies, passenger rights, The TriMet TMC (code of conduct), and feel confident 2024 will be a year of redemption, revelation, professional growth, personal evolution, forgiveness, and learning from the past in ways where I'm able to not only rebuild connections with myself but also those around me. 2024 is slated to be a busy yea.
