TheJunkyard News-Thomson Police Officer VIOLATED HER OATH
Angelika McDonald, 40, of the Thomson Police Department, was charged by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with violation of oath of office, false statements and writings, and tampering with evidence.
This was in regards to an incident on May 20 at a block party on the 500 block of Knox Street in Thomson, according to GBI Spokesman Nelly Miles via a news release. McDonald was off-duty but present at the time. She left the scene and was later called to duty to assist with the incident.
McDonald allegedly provided false information about the shooting to GBI agents and provided instructions to a witness on how to conceal evidence.
The agency has determined that McDonald did not fire a weapon at any time.
As of Friday, she was booked in the McDuffie County jail.
