Susan Bassi-Private Judge and DA Don't Want to be Recorded in Public
This video is part of a long investigative project into private judging, prosecutorial misconduct and the federal funds that are supposed to support crime victims.
The investigation connects Orange County to Santa Clara private judge cases where proseuctors never seem to get around to doing their jobs where private judge clients are involved.
Private judges are attorneys, but don't have to be. Sometimes they are retired judges working for businesses such as JAMS or Signature Resolutions. Attorneys won't usually tell clients that a private judge need not be an attorney. They can be teachers, pastors, nurses or your neighbor.
In family law cases an increasing number of folks are getting duped into private judging- and they want to warn the public of what can happen when midguided and unethical attorneys are in those cases.
